Mon 12, 5pm – Online: To celebrate the Italian Design Day 2021 - Prof. Simona Bordone, Ambassador of Design, will hold a conversation around the title "Quality Design is Sustainable". The theme of this year's event, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the ICE Agency, is "Project and matter: new challenges for the sustainable restart of Made in Italy". Design is sustainable when it respects not only the resources but also the work and intelligence of those who made any product. Sustainability means quality and durability - therefore planned obsolescence must be abolished - but also the possibility of disposal and reuse of materials. Since 2004, Bordone is professor of History of Design at IED Milano. From 2008 to 2017 she was responsible for the contents of the domusweb.it website; since 2018 she has been managing special projects for Domus. Since 2011 she has been President of the Wurmkos non-profit foundation, supporting artists with and without psychic discomfort.
Italy has been celebrating the 700th anniversary of the passing of Dante Alighieri.
