It is difficult to speak about our League title chances, says Zamalek coach
Published in Ahram Online on 08 - 06 - 2021

Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron said on Tuesday it is too early to speak about his side's chances on winning the domestic league especially with their arch-rivals Ahly having a lot of postponed games.
Zamalek are on the top of the league table with 55 points, 14 points ahead of second placed Ahly who have six matches on hand.
The Red Devils will have the chance to move four points clear if they win all their delayed games.
"It is so difficult to speak about our chances to win the domestic league as our fate depends on the results of Ahly in their postponed games,'' Patrice Carteron told Sky news Arabia on Tuesday.
The Frenchman said that he is satisfied with his side's squad this season, adding that the team need some modifications in the next season.
Carteron returned to Zamalek last March after signing a one season and half deal with the club that will link him with the club until the summer of 2022.
"It is not good to speak about the team's squad now," the French coach added.
"Anyways I am satisfied with the current squad but we need in the next season to hire players capable to make the difference and to represent a big club like Zamalek."
Asked about his desire to hire a striker in the next season, he refused to reveal his plans concerning this post.
Zamalek struggled to compensate the absence of team's international striker Mostafa Mohamed who joined Turkish giants Galatasaray last January.
They hired Tunisian striker Ziad Jaziri and Maqassa's front-man Marwan Hamdi but the duo couldn't fill in Mohamed's shoes.
"I have a group of good strikers and I am working to prepare them. Frankly I have no plans concerning this post so far."
The Frenchman pointed that the administrative instability in the club has its impact on the football team.
Since the departure of Zamalek's president Mortada Mansour, two committees took charge of the club during the last seven months.
Both suffered from the lack of financial resources as they failed to fulfill their financial duties toward the players in all sports.
Many players of the football team filed complaints, asking for their unpaid salaries.
"The administrative modifications affected the team especially in the financial level." "We should respect the players as they afforded such matter."
"I don't like to speak about a personal issues but we have to respect them (players)," he added.
Concerning Ferjani Sassi fate, Carteron said that he hopes that the Tunisian midfielder remains at the club, stressing that this file is very complicated.
