Ahly confident of African Super Cup win, RS Berkane vow strong fight
Published in Ahram Online on 27 - 05 - 2021

The coaches for Ahly and RS Berkane stressed on Thursday that their respective sides are ready to win the African Super Cup as both clubs share the same target.
The two sides will face off at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar on Friday.
Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane admits that the game will be very tough given the strength of the Moroccan side, but the South African coach stressed that his side headed to Qatar to win the trophy.
"The game will be very tough, " Pitso Mosimane told the pre-match news conference on Thursday.
"The Moroccan side has great physical power and they have a good coach who is personal friend."
"They produced a string of strong displays at the start of this season.
"I think the game will be 50/50, but I believe that we are capable for winning the game as we are well prepared."
Mosimane said that his side is exhausted due to the club's condensed calendar during the past period, which saw the Red Devils play a big number of games on all fronts.
"My team is suffering from huge fatigue," he added
"We played against Ittihad of Alexandria, Zamalek and Sundowns in Cairo and South Africa."
"The players expended great effort, but we are ready for the game."
"As the coach of a big team like Ahly you should cope with such pressure.''
The South African coach highlighted the importance of the presence of the team 's supporters, adding it would give the team a good boost.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is allowing fans to be present in the stadium with preventive measures.
"The presence of the supporters is very important. They give the team a great boost."
"I faced Ahly before as Soundowns coach and I know the importance of their supporters."
"We are really missing them in Cairo."
On the other hand, RS Berkane coach Pedro Benali has admitted that his side's mission against Ahly will be very tough, stressing that his players will do their best to win the game.
"It will be a very tough game for us as we will be facing a big team, but we won't be afraid and we will play strongly with big confidence to win," Pedro Benali told the post-match news conference.
"We are ready for all scenarios of the game and we will be fully concentrated to do our best in this crucial game."
Ahly are bidding for their seventh African Super Cup in the club's history and the first since 2014, while the Moroccan side are looking for their first title in the continental competition.
