Egypt coach Hossam El-Badry tests positive for coronavirus

Egypt coach Hossam El-Badry has tested positive for the coronavirus, the country's football association announced on Sunday.
"El-Badry tested positive for coronavirus after his daughter was earlier confirmed to have contracted the virus," read a short statement by the EFA.
"The coach is isolated at home and will follow the treatment protocol," the statement added.
The 61-year old El-Badry took charge of the national football team in September 2019; succeeding the Mexican Javier Aguirre.
Under the guidance of the former Ahly player and coach, the Pharaohs played eight matches, winning in five and holding to a draw in three.
Football activities in Egypt were suspended for almost five months last year - from March to August - over the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.
Several Egyptian football coaches and players contacted the virus in the past months.
According to the latest health ministry statement issued on Saturday, Egypt registered 912 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 221,570 cases and the death toll to 12,998 nationwide.
