Early goals give Ahly easy win over Enppi in Egyptian league
Published in Ahram Online on 25 - 04 - 2021

Egyptian Premier League title holders defeated Enppi 3-1 in the postponed game from the 13th matchday on Saturday, recovering from their surprise loss to Smouha last week.
Midfielder Hussein El-Shahat opened the score in the first minute when he received a long pass from defender Rami Rabia and found the nets from a quick shoot inside the area.
Mohamed Sherif doubled the score in the third minute after receiving brilliant assistance from El-Shahat, as the striker sent an unstoppable kick to give Ahly an early lead.
Midfielder Amr El-Sulaya scored the third goal for Ahly two minutes before the break after receiving a low pass from Mohamed "Afsha" Magdi to finish the first half with a 3-0 lead for the title-holders.
In the second half, the Enppi players did their best to return to the game again as the petroleum side's defender Rami Sabri scored the first goal in the 55th minute from a penalty kick.
Despite suffering from a big injury list, Ahly dominated this game especially after a scene that the Red Devils prepared well to recover from in the previous defeat by Smouha in the Egyptian Premier League last week.
The Red Devils suffered from a big injury list that included some key players such as regular full-backs Ali Maaloul and Mohamed Hani; central defenders Yasser Ibrahim and Badr Benoun; defensive midfielder Hamdi Fathi and winger Junior Ajayi.
Ahly are runners-up with 33 points, three points behind Zamalek but the Reds still have two games at hand and they need to win it to reclaim the driver's seat of the teams' table..
