Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Anani reviewed Wednesday with UAE Ambassador in Cairo Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi arrangements for the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in May. They also discussed ways to promote tourism and archaeological cooperation between both countries. The Arabian Travel Market is the leading global event for the inbound and outbound travel industry in the Middle East. For the last twenty-seven years, the annual event has connected products and destinations from around the world with buyers and travel trade visitors at the Dubai World Trade Center. The event will take place on May 16-19. El-Anani welcomed the top diplomat, who is also the UAE's Permanent Representative to the Arab League in Cairo, wishing him a successful tenure and a happy stay in Egypt. Meanwhile, the ambassador congratulated the minister on the inauguration of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, in Old Cairo's Fustat district, and the successful organization of the "Pharaohs' Golden Parade" earlier this month. He stressed the importance of encouraging cultural tourism between the UAE and Luxor, which is frequently depicted as the world's greatest open-air museum and which he visited last week, by offering direct flights.
