Pyramids FC will have a chance for revenge when they host Morocco's Raja in the African Confederation Cup on Sunday as they aim to get back on track in Group D. Last season's runners-up made a superb start to their group-stage campaign by claiming opening victories over Tanzania's Namungo and Zambia's Nkana but were given a reality check away to Raja last week. They were largely outplayed in Casablanca to lose 2-0, with Raja wasting some easy chances that would have given them a bigger win if converted. Egyptian reports also said there were some dressing-room rifts, with skipper Ahmed Fathi reportedly unhappy to play a bit-part role following his move from Cairo giants Ahly last summer. "The match against Raja is difficult because they top the group, but our entire focus is winning this game before we meet Nkana," Fathi told a pre-match news conference. "We only have one target, which is to win the tournament, after we reached the final last season. "There are no problems whatsoever in the team. I play on a regular basis most of the time but injuries and a COVID-19 infection sidelined me for some time." Pyramids are second in Group D with six points from three games, three behind Raja, who collected maximum points. Nkana are third on three points while Namungo lie at the bottom with no points.
