Cervantes Institute celebrates International Women's Day, in cooperation with the Embassy of Argentina, by holding an exhibition of the works of Argentinean writer and painter Silvina Ocamp (1903-1993). The show includes Ocampo's literary and critical works that are part of the library's contents, in addition to works submitted by Argentina Embassy in Egypt. The exhibition can be visited from Sunday to Thursday from 1pm to 4pm, while adhering to all health instructions imposed due to the Coronavirus (8-31 March).

Photopia, the photographers' hub, launches the second edition of Cairo Photo Week, an international photography festival, at four different locations in the heart of Cairo's historic Downtown area: The Factory space, Rawabet space area, Kodak corridor and The Consulate.
Cairo Photo Week is an international artistic and cultural event that seeks to attract and bring together the photography community in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa through educational lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and various other services. Organizing the festival for the second time is Photopia, a school of photography founded in 2012 to support the rising and professional photography community in Egypt and the region. The notable addition to the upcoming festival is that it will be broadcast online, with participants being able to virtually attend some of the festival's activities such as discussions and exhibitions, expanding the attendance and attracting new segments from different geographical locations, age groups, and nationalities. The festival will host 2,000 visitors, participants and attendees, in addition to 3,000 virtual participants. This year for the first time, Cairo Photo Week includes, among 11 other exhibitions, a special exhibition of cinematography entitled "Sima" (cinema) showcasing photos by some of the most important cinematographers in Egypt: Mohsen Ahmed, Ahmed El-Morsi, Abdel-Salam Moussa, Sameh Selim, Victor Kredi, Nancy Abdel-Fattah and Islam Abdel-Sami (11-20 March).

"Maalesh" (sorry) photo exhibition by photographer Léon Dubois who follows Jean Cocteau's journey in the Mediterranean, is organised by the French Institute of Egypt in Alexandria, as part of the second edition of Cairo Photo Week. It offers a photographic interpretation following in Cocteau's footsteps in search of Mediterranean towns, and atmospheres described 70 years ago. This interpretation combines extracts from "Maalesh" with black and white film photographs of the Mediterranean today (10-20 March).
