The foreign ministers of Egypt and Comoros Islands agreed on Thursday to continue coordination and consultations to ensure fair and equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines in Africa. Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said FM Sameh Shoukry received Comorian counterpart Dhoihir Dhoulkamal in Cairo, where they discussed bilateral ties and several issues of mutual interest in the region and continent. Shoukry expressed Egypt's special relations with Comoros as a fraternal Arab and African state, affirming keenness to develop ties further in several fields and bolster the role of Egyptian companies in contributing to implementing Comoros' Emergent 2030 Vision. He affirmed Cairo's commitment to capacity building efforts and knowledge transfer through several training programs organised by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development. Both ministers expressed keenness on coordination and consultations in combating the coronavirus, efforts to access vaccines, and issues of peace and security in the continent.
