Galatasaray's in-form striker Mostafa Mohamed received a straight red card as his side slumped to a surprise 2-1 defeat by Ankaragucu in the Turkish league on Wednesday. Mohamed received his marching orders in the 57th minute after appearing to elbow an opponent as both men vied for the ball. A penalty from Ibrahim Akdag and a goal from Saba Lobzhanidze either side of the interval gave Ankaragucu an upset victory. Galatasaray's Muhammed Akturkoglu scored a stoppage-time consolation. Mohamed has taken Turkish football by storm since joining from Cairo giants Zamalek last month on a one-and-a-half-year loan deal, netting six goals in his first six appearances with Galatasaray. His form is likely to prompt Egypt coach Hossam El-Badri to rely on him as his first-choice striker as the Pharaohs gear up for Nations Cup qualifying games against Kenya and Comoros later this month.
