Egyptian among 4 fishermen arrested by Israel off Gaza
Israel detains Egyptian national and 4 Palestinian fishermen off coast of Gaza, official Egyptian news agency reports

Israeli naval forces on Sunday reportedly arrested five fishermen, including four Palestinians from Gaza and one Egyptian national. The arrested men were later taken to Israel's Port of Ashdod.
Head of Gaza's Fishermen's Syndicate Nizar Ayash told Egypt's official Middle East News Agency that Israeli naval forces had opened fire on the fishermen's boat before detaining the five men, despite the fact that the latter had been fishing within a designated fishing area.
The 1993 Oslo Agreement between the Palestinian Authority and the self-proclaimed Jewish state allows Gazans to fish within 20 miles of the coast, Ayash explained. Israel, however, only allows them to fish within six miles of land, he land.
According to Ayash, the detained Egyptian – named Sadat Abdel Aaty – hails from the city of Arish in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and is a relative of the Palestinians arrested with him.
