President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi visited on Friday several roads and projects across the East Cairo area including the New Mostorod axis development project, according to a statement by Spokesman of the Egyptian presidency, Bassam Rady. The New Mostorod axis is designed as a freeway with eight traffic lanes on every direction connecting Mostorod area and Shoubra/Benha road with: Ain-Shams, Gesr El-Suez, Ring Road, Lt. General Ibrahim El-Oraby axis as well as Belbees desert road. The New Mostorod Axis would create a development boom and a big breakthrough for traffic and citizens' mobility in these areas especially after expanding all neighbouring roads and removing all violations across the roads, the statement read. El-Sisi was briefed during the visit with all construction and implementation details from supervising engineers at the work sites, where he instructed the implementation of the highest engineering standards as well as the expanding of the roads as much as possible to achieve traffic fluidity. He also gave directives that local residents of slum areas, which are undergoing development, should be moved into decent housing units that enjoy utilities in the newly built 'Ahalina' housing complexes in order to provide decent lives to them and their families.
