Pyramids FC announced on Monday that they have signed Uruguayan striker Diego Rolan from the Spanish team Deportivo de La Coruña on loan without disclosing the financial details. The 27-year-old striker started his football career in the Defensor Sporting Club of Uruguay, after which he joined the French team Bordeaux, where he scored 33 goals in 122 appearances. Rolan joined Spain La Liga team Malaga on loan before joining Deportivo La Coruña on a permanent deal. He then moved on loan to Leganés in the 2018 season and then to Alaves in 2019. It's not the first time for the big spending club, Pyramids FC, to bring top profile players to the Egyptian Premier League, as they signed before Brazilian left winger Marcos da Silva 'Keno' from the Brazilian team Palmeiras before offloading him to Clube Atlético Mineiro. Pyramids FC also signed in 2019 Ecuadorian striker Jhon Cifuente and sold him to Delfín S.C. of Ecuador in the 2020 season. They also signed Peruvian attacking midfielder Cristian Benavente in the 2019 season from Belgian team Charleroi before loaning him to French side Nantes. Pyramids FC have also previously signed Syrian superstar Omar Khribin from Saudi side Al-Hilal on loan in the summer of the 2019 season. Rolan is not the only signing this winter, as they also announced the signing of Enppi centre-back Osama Galal without disclosing the financial details. Pyramids FC are 5th on the Egyptian Premier League table, with 15 points after playing 10 games so far this season. They are also competing in the African Confederation Cup.
