A relatively cold wave will start to batter several parts of Egypt starting Wednesday for three days, with a noticeable fall in temperatures, wind, and moderate rainfall, according to weather forecasters. The snap is expected to cause disturbance to navigation as well as wind across different parts of the country including the capital, Cairo, said the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) in a statement on Tuesday. On Wednesday, a 40 percent chance of mild rainfall is expected to drizzle in Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Damietta, and Port Said, while mild to moderate rainfall is expected in Alexandria, Salloum, Matrouh, Rasheed, and Baltim intermittently. A mild to moderate rainfall is set to continue to hit parts of Lower Egypt and the northern coast on Thursday and Friday, according to meteorologists. The spell is expected to raise winds toward parts of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coast, central Sinai, the Suez Canal's cities, and northern Upper Egypt from Wednesday to Saturday. An average wave height of 2-4 metres is also expected to disturb navigation along the Red Sea on Wednesday and along the Red Sea and the Mediterranean on Thursday and Friday, the EMA added.
