Various parts in Egypt, including Alexandria, Beheira, and Matrouh, saw on Thursday a spell of inclement weather, including mild to heavy rainfall, lightning and thunder, without a noticeable impact on road traffic flow. The northeastern coasts of Egypt witnessed a moderate weather on Thursday, while Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, southern Sinai, and Upper Egypt saw a warm weather. Egypt's Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned on Sunday a six-day wave of unstable weather would hit the country, with a drop in temperatures and rainfall starting Tuesday. The EMA posted on Facebook footage showing precipitation over different areas of the western coast and the northern part of Nile Delta governorates. Matrouh announced the suspension of fishing activities at its ports as a preventative measure until the wave is over. Rainfall increased on Wednesday evening in Lower Egypt governorates, Mohamed Shahin, head of the analysis and forecast department at the EMA told Al-Ahram Arabic news website. The meteorologist said the rain will continue through Sunday. On Friday, Lower Egypt and the northern coast are expected to see moderate weather, with mild to heavy rainfall, while southern Sinai and Upper Egypt are forecast to see warm to hot weather, with mild to moderate rains. Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta region will see highs of 27 degrees Celsius and lows of 19 degrees. The northwestern coast of Egypt will see highs of 26 and lows of 19 degrees, while South Sinai and the Red Sea Mountains will see highs of 32 and lows of 26. Northern Upper Egypt will see a high of 29 with a low of 20, while Southern Upper Egypt will see a high of 35 and a low of 25 degrees. On Saturday, cool to moderate weather is expected in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the northern coast, with moderate to heavy rains, while southern Sinai and Upper Egypt will see moderate to hot weather, with mild rains, according to the EMA. Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta region will see highs of 27 degrees Celsius and lows of 19 degrees. The northwestern coast of Egypt will see a high of 26 and a low of 19 degrees, while South Sinai and the Red Sea Mountains will see highs of 33 and lows of 26. Northern Upper Egypt will see a high of 28 with a low of 20 degrees, while Southern Upper Egypt will see a high of 32 and a low of 25 degrees.
