Senegal's Cisse looks for his own history

Newcastle's Senegalese goal machine Papiss Cisse, who wears the same shirt Newcastle legends Jackie Milburn, Malcolm Macdonald and Alan Shearer wore, has expressed on Sunday his happiness to be linked to the Tyneside club, insisting he is capable of bearing this great responsibility, as he looks for glory in the English Premier League.
"To wear the No.9 at any club is a challenge and a greater demand because the shirt is always associated with great stars," Cisse was quoted on Sunday as saying by Sky Sports.
"I know Shearer was a No.9 and a great forward. It is emotional to know I'm wearing such a famous shirt and because of that I want to succeed even more. "he added.
The 27-year-old striker, made a great start with Newcatle since his arrival in January, scoring ten goals in 11 appearances.
"The No.9 shirt offers you the chance to become a legend at this club. I have only just arrived but hope in many years from now the Newcastle fans can talk about a Senegalese player who wore No.9 and scored many important goals. "Cisse concluded.
