Arab Gulf leaders signed on Tuesday the closing statement of the 41st GCC summit, which is held in the historic city of al-Ula in Saudi Arabia. THe summit is attended by heads of states or their representatives from Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar,, Kuwait and Oman. The summit was also attended by Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. The GCC members also signed a separate statement dubbed the al-Ula agreement, which is expected to change a blockade by three GCC member-states - as part of an Arab quartet that includes Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt - on Qatar. The text of the statements is expected to be released to the press soon. Ahead of the gathering, Kuwait announced that Saudi Arabia, which along with allies boycotted Doha in mid-2017, would reopen its airspace and borders to Qatar under a deal that a senior US official said would be signed in the presence of White House senior adviser Jared Kushner More to follow
