Zamalek's spokesman puts an end to contract extension saga of Tunisian Sassi
Published in Ahram Online on 04 - 01 - 2021

Zamalek's Spokesman Essam Salem revealed that the negotiations with Tunisian Midfielder Ferjani Sassi to extend his stay with the team caused a headache for the club's management, confirming that the team informed the player of their last offer and are waiting for his response.
"Sassi should know Zamalek's financial ability and he has to accept it, we offered him a big deal that no other Egyptian team can match," Essam Salem told a television programme.
The 28-year-old Sassi received an offer from a big-spending Qatari club to join the team during the winter transfer window.
"The Qatari offer is bigger than Zamalek's, but the player should know we will be happy to keep him in the team's squad,"
"We informed Sassi of our final offer and are waiting for his response," the Zamalek's spokesman said.
The Tunisian midfielder missed Zamalek's last two games in the Egyptian Premier League, when the Whites defeated Smouha 2-0 and Enppi 2-1, as he is waiting to finalise the deal with the club's management before returning to action.
"Zamalek achieved victory in the previous two games without Sassi, as the team's coach decided to exclude any player who doesn't concentrate in trainings,"
"It's also a big chance for the team's other midfielders to meet the fans expectations and book a regular place in the squad,"
Sassi's contract with Zamalek will expire next June, and he is currently free to negotiate with any team during the final six months of his contract.
Zamalek are third in the Egyptian Premier League teams' table with 10 points after playing four games in the current season, as they won three matches and tied in one.
