Togo star Laba Kodjo misses Egypt clash over coronavirus fears
Published in Ahram Online on 10 - 11 - 2020

Al-Ain striker Laba Kodjo is likely to miss Togo's clash against Egypt in the African Nations Cup qualifiers after the Emirati side refused to let the player join the his national team in Cairo.
Egypt will host Togo in Cairo on Saturday before meeting them again in Lome three days later.
"The Togolese team trained in Cairo for the first time on Tuesday with the absence of Laba Kodjo and David Henen," The Togolese football federation (TFF) tweeted on Tuesday.
"The Togolese football federation is in battle with the Emirati club Al-Ein to liberate the player."
Sources in the Togolese national team told Egyptian media on Tuesday that Al-Ain had refused to allow the player to fly to Cairo to avoid the mandatory14-day quarantine that he must go into upon returning to the UAE.
Last March, FIFA gave clubs the option to prevent their players from joining up with their national teams in an attempt to combat COVID-19
Togo lie at the bottom of G with a single point, while Egypt are third with two points. Comoros are on top with four points.
