The protestors claimed that the employees are paid by the ministry and they did not come to Tahrir to treat injured protestors but instead to "run tests on people." Samar Mortada, the representative doctor from National Centre for Services, who was defending the health workers saying that "the employees came to Tahrir in order to collect blood donations in order to transport the blood to public hospitals and children cancer hospitals, in addition to running necessary blood tests that cost between LE300 - LE400 to help the injured and patients on the square."
