Egypt's national football team maintained their position at the 49th place in the FIFA global football rankings, the final ranking of the year 2020.
Last month, Egypt jumped three places in the ranking after beating Togo in two games in the 2022 African Cup of Nations Cup qualifiers in mid-November, as well as moving level on top of Group G with the surprise package Comoros at eight points each.
The Pharaohs stayed in the 6th place among African countries, behind Senegal (20), Tunisia (26), Algeria (31), Nigeria (35) and Morocco (35).
The December rankings saw no changes for major African and European teams, as Senegal stayed in the lead among African teams, while Belgium lead an unchanged top four national teams, ahead of France, Brazil and England.
Egypt, who made it into the world's top ten teams after they won consecutive African Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010, stayed fourth among Arab countries, after Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
The best mover in the new ranking was Djibouti, jumping one place to the 184th place, while the biggest drop belonged to Bangladesh, who fell two spots to 186th place.
