Poor run in AFCON qualifiers costs Egypt two places in FIFA rankings

Coming in the wake of two disappointing draws in their last two games in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Egypt's national team have dropped two positions to 51st place in November's FIFA global rankings.
The Pharaohs are in seventh place among African countries, behind Senegal (20), Tunisia (27), Nigeria (31), Algeria (35), Morocco (43), and Ghana (47).
Egypt was fourth among Arab countries, after Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
In the October rankings, Egypt were in the 49th spot.
They opened their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign with a 1-1 draw to Kenya at Cairo International Stadium, following it up with an away match against Comoros which also ended in a goalless draw.
The Pharaohs made it into the world's top ten teams when they won successive CAN trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Belgium remains top of this month's FIFA rankings, followed by France, Brazil and England, while Croatia jumped one place to sixth.
The best mover in the new ranking was Myanmar, jumping 11 places to the 136th place, while the biggest drop was Equatorial Guinea, who dropped ten spots to 145th place.
