Cristiano Ronaldo scored a pair of goals after setting up Karim Benzema's spectacular opener as Real Madrid routed Osasuna 5-1 to maintain a least a six-point advantage over Barcelona in the Spanish league. Gonzalo Higuain also scored a brace as Madrid moved nine points clear of three-time defending champion Barcelona, which can close the gap by beating Athletic Bilbao later Saturday. Ronaldo's fancy footwork allowed him to fire in a long cross that Benzema volleyed back across goal and inside the far post for the seventh-minute opener. Ronaldo followed up with an equally impressive goal from 35 meters out before the Portugal forward's second goal from a second-half free kick moved him two clear of Lionel Messi with a league-leading tally of 37 goals.
