The Egyptian Premier League game between Masry and Ismaily will be played as scheduled on Friday, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced, hours after Masry revealed that the number players infected with coronavirus has increased. The Port-Said based club announced on Thursday that the number of infected players and staff members increased to 20 after players underwent PCR tests ahead of their scheduled game against Ismaily. "50 member of Masry team underwent PCR tests which showed there are less than 10 cases who tested positive with coronavirus among the team's 30-man registered squad," read a statement by the EFA on Thursday. "The remaining positive cases weren't registered in the EFA lists," "Therefore, the EFA decided that game between Masry and Ismaily in the 19th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League will be played as scheduled on Friday," the statement added. Masry are the second team to confirm more than a dozen coronavirus cases after El-Entag El-Harby, who had their match against FC Masr rescheduled last week after 19 players and non-playing staff had tested positive for the virus. The domestic competition restarted on Thursday with a match between Zamalek and Masry after a five-month hiatus due to the pandemic. Holders Ahly are leading the league table with 52 points after playing 18 matches, 17 points over second placed Pyramids FC, who played one game more. Masry lie in tenth place with 20 points from 17 matches, while Ismaily are 9th in the table with 22 points after playing 18 games.
