Egypt and Jordan's foreign ministers discuss annexation of West Bank Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Thursday the efforts to block the Israeli annexation of the West Bank with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, the Egyptian ministry said. The two ministers discussed by phone the latest developments in Palestine as well as the attempts to revive the Middle East peace process once again, and how to safeguard against the implications of the annexation order. Shoukry and Safadi agreed to continue work and coordination with partners and allies to find a way to achieve peace on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with the international law and the Arab Peace Initiative, which was adopted at the Beirut Summit in 2002. The two ministers also discussed the latest developments regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Safadi asserted his country's support for Egypt in reaching a solution that upholds the water rights of Egypt and other stakeholders through talks, noting that a settlement should guarantee that no state takes unilateral decisions on the filling of the mega-dam.
