The Kremlin on Thursday denied an allegation by Minsk that Russian forces were meddling in Belarus's upcoming presidential election. Belarus's President Alexander Lukashenko accused Russian and Polish forces earlier on Thursday of meddling in the Aug. 9 election and said he wanted talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Commenting on the allegation on a conference call with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said "Russia has never, is not and does not intend to interfere in election process, particularly in the ones of our Belarusian ally."
