The Cairo International Airport Museum in the airport's Terminal 3 has received a set of artifacts from the Egyptian Museum and the Suez National Museum's stores, in preparation for its imminent opening. Mostafa Waziri, the secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that the transportation process was carried out according to internationally recognised scientific methods, and a full detailed report on every piece was prepared, in addition to packing each statue individually inside a special box lined with reinforced foam and supporting it with straps to prevent any vibrations during the transfer process. Moamen Othman, the head of the ministry's museums department, explained that the collection of artifacts includes 12 pieces that were carefully selected by the Supreme Committee for Museum Scenarios to enrich the museum exhibits. It includes three mummies decorated with gilded cartonnage and painted scenes, a set of canopic jars, a bronze statue of a winged Isis, and sculptures from the Greek and Roman eras. Work is also underway to establish another museum at the airport inside Terminal 2 with an area of 150 square metres, Othman said.
