Egypt on Sunday received a second batch of medical aid from China to help in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the Chinese embassy in Cairo has announced. According to a statement by the embassy, Egypt's health ministry received 10,000 N95 respiration masks, 10,000 protective gowns and 70,000 PCR testing kits in the batch, which weighed an estimated 4.7 tonnes.
“Egypt and China are good friends. China supports Egypt's efforts in combating the virus, which we are sure Egypt will combat soon,” said Chinese Ambassador Liao Liqiang.
Last month, Egypt also received a 4-tonne batch of medical supplies from China.
In March, Egypt sent China a shipment of medical supplies, to accompany a visit to the country by Health Minister Hala Zayed.
