Ahly to determine Fathi's future, wait for FIFA and FA's decision over Sobhi
Published in Ahram Online on 27 - 03 - 2020

Ahly will hold talks with the team's defender Ahmed Fathi to determine his future with the team, while the Reds' management are waiting for the FIFA's decision over the fate of the on loan players to start negotiations over Ramadan Sobhi's stay with the team, according to the duo's agent Nader Shawki.
The contracts of Fathi, 35, and the loan deal of Sobhi from English side Huddersfield Town with Ahly to expire by the end of the suspended season.
"Ahly management asked to hold a meeting with Fathi on Monday to negotiate over his future with the team," Shawki told a television programme.
"There are no dispute between the management and Fathi as the player and the club know well what they need,"
The players' agent also hinted on the future of Ramadan Sobhi with Ahly confirming nothing happened yet as his client and the club are waiting for FIFA's decision over the situation of the on loan players.
The 23-year-old winger, who is on a season-long loan at his boyhood club from English side Huddersfield Town, has been out of action since injuring a hamstring muscle in December.
After three months of being sidelined due to injury, Sobhi has rejoined the Reds' trainings on 15 March but unfortunately he couldn't appear in the pitch after the sudden suspension of all sports activities in Egypt due to over the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.
"We are waiting for FIFA and English FA's decision over the players who are on loan and what will happen with current season," Nader Shawki.
"No one in the world know anything (the football future)," the players' agent said.
Football matches have been suspended in all divisions for two weeks as Egypt tries to contain the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Countries with major football leagues, including Britain, Italy and Spain, have also suspended football matches until early April.
Since its outbreak in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, coronavirus (COVID-19) has infected more than 537,000 people globally and killed 24,149.
