In a two-day event (19-20 January), the Bibliotheca Alexandrina will showcase a selection of five Arab short films that made it to the Oscars in recent years as well as other award-winning short films featuring stars of the Arab cinema field. The first day (19 January) of the event will showcase Oscar-nominated films; namely, Ave Maria by Basil Khalil; Ayny by Ahmed Saleh; Nocturne in Black by Jimmy Keyrouz; The Rifle, the Jackal, the Wolf, and the Boy by Oualid Mouaness; and Baheya & Mahmoud by Zaid Abu Hamdan. The second day (20 January) will screen Arab award-winning short films, including The Parrot by Darin J. Sallam and Amjad Al Rasheed; Submarine by Mounia Akl; Five Boys and a Wheel by Said Zagha; and Kindil El-Bahr by Damien Ounouri. The films feature a number of outstanding stars, including Tunisian star Hend Sabry, Palestinian stars Ashraf Barhoum and Ali Soliman, Lebanese stars Julian Farhat and Yumna Marwan, and Algerian star Adila Bendimerad.
