Egypt maintain 51st position in FIFA's 2019 final football ranking

Egypt's national football team held their 51st position in the FIFA global football rankings, published on Thursday, December 19th. The team maintained the same position they claimed last month.
The Pharaohs come in seventh place among African countries, behind Senegal (20), Tunisia (27), Nigeria (31), Algeria (35), Morocco (43), and Ghana (47).
Egypt are also placed fourth among Arab countries, after Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
In the October rankings, Egypt were placed in the 49th spot but they dropped two places in November's ranking after the two disappointing draws in their last two games in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Egypt opened their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign last November with a 1-1 draw to Kenya at Cairo International Stadium, following it up with an away match against Comoros which also ended in a goalless draw.
The Pharaohs made it into the world's top ten teams when they won successive CAN trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Belgium remains top of this month's nearly unchanged FIFA rankings, followed by France, Brazil and England.
The best mover in the new ranking was Korea Republic, jumping 1 place to the 40th place, while the biggest drop was Hong Kong, who dropped two spots to 141st place.
