Senegal's Cisse on target as Newcastle held by Wolves Senegal striker Papiss Cisse scored in Newcastle's 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday
Kevin Doyle handed new manager Terry Connor a point in his first game in charge as Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled off an unlikely comeback to draw with high-flying Newcastle 2-2 in the Premier League on Saturday. Connor was promoted from assistant manager to run Wolves for the rest of the season, after Mick McCarthy was fired with the team in the relegation zone. The visitors appeared headed for humiliation after Papiss Cisse and then Jonas Gutierrez fired the Magpies into a 2-0 lead with just 18 minutes played. But Matt Jarvis dragged Wolves back into the game five minutes into the second half and Doyle struck with 66 minutes gone to snatch a draw which dented the home side's hopes of putting pressure on the top four.
