Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry travelled to Vienna on Sunday to begin a tour of a number of European countries, including Austria, Croatia, Lithuania and Latvia.

The visit comes in line with Egypt's keenness to strengthen cooperation with foreign countries.

Shoukry is to give a lecture on the relationship between Egypt's foreign policy and the UN in Austria in the presence of a group of senior Austrian officials and heads of international organisations, foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.

After that, the minister will visit Zagreb, where he will meet with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman to discuss several regional issues of common interest, the spokesman said.

The minister will lead the Egyptian delegation to the Egypt-Lithuania Business Council, during which an agricultural cooperation agreement is set to be signed.

Shoukry will hold meetings with a group of Lithuanian senior officials, the spokesman said.

In Latvia, Shoukry will meet with a number of senior officials to discuss means of promoting bilateral relations and issues of common interest.
