President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met Friday with the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Summit in New York, Al Bawaba News reported. During the meeting Kitarović congratulated Sisi on the opening of the new Suez Canal project, saying that this project is a great achievement for Egypt and its people. She added that her country is keen to boost cooperation between Suez Canal and Croatian ports on the Adriatic Sea, as well as strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Croatia in various fields, especially in energy, construction and information technology sectors. The Croatian President praised efforts exerted by the Egyptian authorities to find the kidnapped Croatian citizen in the Sinai Peninsula, who was slaughtered by the Islamic State (IS) militants. Sisi praised Croatia's support for Egypt and its people, pointing out that Egypt welcomes Croatian investments in various projects in Egypt.
