Burkina Faso coach fired Burkina Faso's football federation has fired coach Paulo Duarte after the national team lost all three games at the African Cup of Nations
The chairman of the Burkinabe Football Federation (FBF), Zambede Theodore Sawadogo, speaking on national radio on Friday, said that Portuguese coach Duarte had “failed to impose himself as a leader of the group” at the tournament. Duarte's contract was set to expire on 31 March, but Sawadogo said the FBF decided to end it early after such poor results at the African Cup with Burkina Faso losing to Angola, Ivory Coast and Sudan in Group B. Sawadogo said assistant coach Mocktar Baro would take charge for the 29 February friendly match in Morocco. The 42-year-old Duarte has coached Burkina Faso since 2008.
