Townhouse Gallery to host talk by international artists Jane Jin Kaisen and Guston Sondin-Kung to explore issues of transnational societies at Townhouse Gallery
Artists Jane Jin Kaisen and Guston Sondin-Kung will attend the Townhouse Gallery on Wednesday 15 February to discuss their collaborative itinerant_sends_for_itinerant visual arts project. In the project the artists immerse themselves in contested and emerging histories. They take their audience through these different visual mediums to examine the dynamic nature of race, class, and gender. Jane Jin Kaisen is a visual artist based in Copenhagen who holds an MA in Art Theory and Communication from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Art from the University of California Los Angeles. She participated in he Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program. Her work has been exhibited in several spaces in Europe. Guston Sondin-Kung is an American visual artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He holds a BFA from the California Institute of the Arts and has held a faculty teaching position at Otis College of Art and Design for four years. His work has been exhibited in Europe and Japan.
