Khalafalla qualified for the semis after he had won his heat with a time of 22.04 seconds, which put him in 11th place in the overall heat rankings. The 23-year-old also competed in the men's 100m freestyle on Wednesday but failed to qualify, finishing first in his heat but 26th in the overall rankings with a time of 49.22 seconds. In the men's 100m backstroke, Mohamed Samy finished 39th in the heats with 55.87 seconds on Monday. In the men's 50m butterfly, Abdel-Rahman Sameh qualified for the semifinals after finishing 15th in the heats with a time of 23.54 seconds on Sunday. Later on Sunday, he recorded 23.68 in the semis to finish in 16th place. In the men's 100m breaststroke, Youssef El-Kamash finished 31st in the heats with a time of 1:01.24 minutes on Sunday.
