Egyptian swimmer Marwan El-Kamash will be competing for his first medal at the current World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, which are being held from 21 to 28 July, as he will appear in the men's 800m Freestyle event on Tuesday. El-Kamash's brother Youssef, 24, will also be competing at the Men 50m Breaststroke event on the same day. The 25-year-old Marwan previously represented Egypt in the 2015 World Aquatics Championships as well as at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, while Youssef's prominent appearance was in the men's 50m breaststroke event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. On Sunday, Egyptian swimmer Farida Osman started her mission in the world tournament with 100 fly; ranking 17th in 58.43 minutes, but she still has the chance to claim a medal as she will compete at the 50, 100 free and 50 fly events. The 24-year-old Osman won Best Female Athlete from Africa at the ANOC Awards 2017 in Prague, a few months after she made national history by winning Egypt's first-ever medal at the World Championships in Budapest.
