The Tunisian national team's doctor Suhail Al-Shamli has confirmed that Zamalek's attacking midfielder Ferjani Sassi will be available for the 2019 African Cup of Nations which kicks off in Egypt next week. "Ferjani Sassi completed his recovery and rehab programmes and is now fit to participate in the games,” Al-Shamli told an Egyptian television programme. "Sassi participated normally in the national team's trainings as he is prepared physically and technically for the games. "The decision of calling up Sassi to Tunisia's squad will be in the hands of team's manager, but he is medically fit," he concluded. The midfield maestro underwent surgery recently for a foot injury that had kept him off the field for over a month. The 27-year-old fractured a foot bone in Zamalek's 1-0 win over Hassania Agadir in the Confederation Cup quarter-final in April. Sassi has been a revelation since joining Zamalek from Saudi side Al-Nasr last summer, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. Tunisia were drawn in Group E of the African tournament, alongside Mali, Mauritania and Angola. The cup, which has been expanded to 24 teams this year, will take place from 21 June to 19 July.
