Ticket marketplace Tazkarti has launched an online platform to enable fans to sign up for a fan ID and purchase tickets for the much anticipated Africa Cup of Nations football tournament, which will be hosted by Egypt in June. The platform allows fans to purchase tickets online after signing up for a fan ID, which will be the main form of identification at stadium gates during the tournament. Fans can choose to pay for their preferred ticket category online with immediate printing options, or pick them up at a number of outlets nationwide, depending on the purchased category. Tazkarti can be accessed through www.tazkarti.com, with the hotline 15355 for further info. Egypt was granted hosting rights of the 2019 African Cup of Nations after winning a majority of votes in a January meeting of the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football. Egypt obtained 16 out of 18 votes, with only one vote going to sole rival South Africa, while the remaining voting country abstained. The 2019 AFCON is scheduled to take place from 21 June to 19 July, having been moved from January/February to avoid club-versus-country clashes. Egypt has already hosted four editions of the cup: in 1959, 1974, 1986 and 2006. The Pharaohs have won the prestigious competition seven times.
