Moroccan heavyweights Raja Casablanca have announced the signing of former Ahly coach Patrice Carteron to be in charge of the team until the end of the ongoing season with an option to extend the deal for another year. The 48-year-old Frenchman will replace Spanish coach Juan Carlos Garrido, who also led Egypt's Ahly in the 2014-15 season, in coaching the Moroccan side when they face Tunisian giants Esperance in the African Super Cup game on 29 March in Doha, Qatar. Egypt's Ahly terminated Carteron's contract a few hours after the team was eliminated from the Zayed Champions Cup last November, less than two weeks after losing the African Champions League final to Tunisia's Esperance in Rades. Confederation Cup title winners Raja are 5th in the Moroccan domestic league table with 21 points, 9 points behind leaders Wydad de Casablanca, who played two games more.
