A human rights activist says five Moroccans set themselves on fire in the capital to protest unemployment, with three landing in the hospital. Youssef al-Rissouni of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights said three of the men were burned badly enough to go to the hospital Wednesday, while two others just had their clothing singed. The men were part of a two-week occupation of a Ministry of Education building as part of a protest demanding jobs, he said Thursday. Last week, four people set themselves on fire in Tunisia to protest unemployment, with one dying. Morocco has seen rising protests from unemployed university graduates. While the unemployment rate is only 9.1 percent nationally, it rises to around 16 percent for graduates.
