Zamalek has officially unveiled their new signing, striker Khaled Boutaib, in a press conference at the club's headquarters on Monday. On Sunday, the Cairo giants announced that they reached an agreement to sign the 31-year-old Moroccan hitman Boutaib, who was playing for Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor. "Boutaib signed the contract with the club's vice president Ahmed Galal," said a statement on Zamalek's official website on Monday without disclosing the contract length. Reports suggested that the player has already signed a three-and-a-half-year contract. Zamalek's chairman Mortada Mansour wished the player success during the press conference, saying that he would be a valuable addition to the team in the coming period. "We signed Boutaib in an EGP30 million deal," Mansour explained. Boutaib is expected to become Zamalek's first choice frontman following the departure of Congolese Kabongo Kasongo to Saudi Arabia's Al-Wehda on a loan deal. The team's Swiss coach Christian Gross usually plays with a lone striker. Boutaib played for several French clubs, including Strasbourg, where he had a brief spell in the 2016/2017 season. He made 20 appearances with Morocco, scoring eight goals including one in an exciting 2-2 draw with Spain at last year's World Cup in Russia when he robbed Sergio Ramos, broke clear and fired home.
