Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi granted on Thursday the Egyptian Sports Medal to a number of the country's athletic champions. El-Sisi has honoured the squash national team, who won the World Team Squash Championship last September, as well as the football team who won the bronze medal at the Women Special Olympics last July. The president has also honoured the teams' technical staff with medals. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali and Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy attended Thursday's awards ceremony. The MENA Special Olympics president and the president of the Egyptian Squash Association were also present. Egypt's presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said that President El-Sisi has hailed the players' achievements and their contribution to holding up the image of the country in the sports field.
