Handball: Egypt coach Davis Camara named Veszprem's new manager
Published in Ahram Online on 09 - 10 - 2018

Hungarian handball side Telekom Veszprem announced on Tuesday that Egypt coach Davis Camara will be the team's new coach.
The Spanish coach will keep his post as manager of Egypt's national handball team, who are preparing for next year's World Championship set to be played in Denmark and Germany in January.
Camara, who was a member of the Spanish team that won the world title in 2005, took charge of the Egyptian national team last May, and his contract with the Egyptian Handball Federation runs until 2021.
"The Egyptian Handball Federation confirms that Davis will keep his post as Egypt coach until the end of his contract in 2021," read a statement by the Egyptian Handball Federation on Tuesday.
"Veszprem are one of the heavyweights in the world of handball and the contract between the Egyptian federation and Davis allows him to accept such an offer."
"It is not bizarre as the world of handball knows many similar cases, like Raul Gonzalez, who is the coach of French side PSG and Macedonia's national team, as well as Nikolaj Jacobsen, who took charge of Danish side Rhein-Neckar Löwen and the Denmark national time at the same time."
"We will evaluate the experience at the end of the World Championship in January 2019 and we will take the right decision," the statement added.
Egypt is playing in the World Championship in group D alongside Sweden, Hungary, Qatar, Argentina and Angola.
