Ahly's Meteb to miss Bayern Munich friendly Injury rules Emad Meteb out of Saturday's friendly game between Ahly and German giants Bayern Munich in Qatari capital Doha
Striker Emad Meteb has been left out of Ahly's squad for Saturday's friendly game against Bayern Munich in Qatari capital Doha due to a back injury. Meteb, Ahly's top scorer in the Egyptian Premier League with five goals, missed the team's victories over Ghazl El-Mahalla and Talae El-Geish due to the same complaint. In his absence, Egyptian international forward Mohamed Nagy ‘Gedo' is likely to spearhead Ahly's attack against 2011 Bundesliga runners-up Bayern Munich. Gedo, who was used mainly as a substitute recently, has started to win over coach Manuel Jose with some fine displays. He scored Ahly's second goal in the convincing 3-0 victory over El-Geish and won the penalty which veteran playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika converted in the second half to wrap up the win. Mauritanian striker Dominique Da Silva and defenders Sherif Abdel-Fadil and Mohamed Naguib will also miss the Bayern Munich match due to injuries. Defensive midfielder Hossam Ashour was included in Ahly's squad despite limping off in the first half against El-Geish due to a groin complaint.
