Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah said on Monday that the next African Cup of nations is the most open in years adding that the Blackstars will be dangerous for anyone in the continental competition.
"We are a good team, without any phenomenon's but with many quality players. If we are compact and gritty as coach Goran Stevanovic asks, we will be dangerous for anyone to play," Kwadwo Asamoah told Fifa.com.
The 23 –year-midfielder produced a fine performance with the Italian side Udinese in the Serie A this seasonand the Ghanaians are waiting for a similar performance during the African Cup of Nations.
Despite the absence of some African giants like Egypt, Nigeria and Cameroon Who failed all to qualify to the African tournament, Asamoah refused to consider the Blackstars as only favorites for the title.
"I do not see any favorite. We all start on the same level, so of course there could be a big surprise. I see a very balanced tournament." The Udinese star added
"It is true that strong and successful teams will be missing, but it still won't be easy to win the continental tournament. Not even South Africa will be there, but there are always new teams who will make life hard for anyone. All the teams who qualified for the finals deserved it," he concluded.
Ghana which looks for its first continental title in 30 years, will play on the Group D with Botswana, Mali and Guinea.
