Saudi Turki Al-Sheikh's promise keeps midfielder Tarek Hamed at Zamalek for 3 more years

Zamalek have announced that Egypt national team first choice midfielder Tarek Hamed has extended his stay with the team for another three years after the chairman of Saudi's Sports Authority Turki Al-Sheikh promised to cover EGP five million of the player's EGP 12 million contract with the team.
"Tarek Hamed extended his contract with the team for three years against EGP 7 million per season alongside EGP 5 million will be paid by Turki Al-Sheikh," Zamalek president Mortada Mansour was quoted as saying on the club's official website early on Friday.
Egyptian new franchise football team Pyramids, who are believed to be owned by Al-Sheikh, had announced on Wednesday that they are preparing a $2 million bid for Hamed this summer.
The player had refused to extend his stay with the White Knights, asking to receive more money before putting pen to papers on the new contracts.
Hamed, who was a key member of the Pharaohs squad that participated in this year's World Cup, has been criticised by Zamalek president Mortada Mansour, who claimed that the 29-year-old player is refusing to renew his contract with the club.
However, Mansour reached an agreement with Al-Sheikh to pay the player's remaining fees to end Hamed's new contract saga.
The international midfielder joined Zamalek in the summer of 2014 from Smouha and his contract will expire next summer.
