Leicester City's new signing James Maddison is relishing the prospect of playing alongside striker Jamie Vardy, highlighting it as a major reason for his move to the Premier League club. Attacking midfielder Maddison, who scored 14 goals in 44 appearances for Norwich City in the second-tier Championship last season, was in awe of the England international's relentless attitude. "Playing with the likes of Jamie Vardy was a selling point. Playing behind him will be brilliant," Maddison told the Leicester Mercury. "His story is phenomenal. I think everyone looking from the outside are wowed and he has been brilliant. He never gives anything up and is quality in front of goal. I can't wait to play with him." The 21-year-old, who joined Leicester on a five-year deal last month, is aiming to impress manager Claude Puel in pre-season and establish himself as a starter in the upcoming Premier League season. "I want to show the manager what I can do and repay the trust he has shown in me by bringing me here to the club," Maddison added. "I want to show everyone what I am about. I am a young, ambitious lad and I can't wait to get on the pitch and show everyone what I can do". Leicester will play their first pre-season friendly against fourth-tier League Two side Notts County on July 21.
