Pyramids Club, previously Assiouty Sports, has unveiled former Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry as the club's chairman assisted by a number of the country's well-known football figures. "We thank the Saudi investor for sponsoring the club, which will boost the game in the country. We aim to build a team that is capable of competing locally and regionally," the 56-year-old former Ahly defender stated during a press conference at a hotel in Cairo on Thursday afternoon. The anonymous Saudi investor who bought the club is reportedly Saudi Chairman of the General Authority of Sport Turki Al-Sheikh. The club has also unveiled former Anderlecht, Ahly and Zamalek star midfielder Ahmed Hassan as spokesman and football team supervisor assisted by football director Hadi Khashaba. "We are aiming to make hundreds of Mohamed Salahs. We are targeting a big investment in the football market globally," Hassan stated. Since the sale last month, the club has signed many players including Ahly and Zamalek target defender Abdallah Bakri, playmaker Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdi and Arab Contractors forward Mohamed Farouk, in addition to two Brazilian players. The club is also reportedly in the process of signing several key figures in Egyptian football to strengthen their ranks ahead of the upcoming season. The technical staff of the team are all Brazilian, under helm of former Botafogo manager Alberto Valentim.
